The Aywas Thread
But I really like the colouring on that second "faux" creature. It looks so vibrant and almost iridescent.

(some people just love using clipping layers. Preferably with a million other, unnamed, layers so that it's just impossible to understand what's what. In these cases I usually resort to just copying the linework layer and then doing the rest (new shading and so on) from scratch...)

I've never understood how people do collaborations. Everyone has their own idiosyncratic ways of doing even the simplest things. I dread to think what anyone would do with my horrid sketches and my lack of layers is just embarrassing.
And I still don't "get" clipping masks.

All Aywas pet PSDs have a basic structure; a base colour layer (flat color), a shading layer, a light layer and a lines layer plus usually an eye highlight layer. But then people add extra layers and they keep using clipping masks that they don't "apply" when the work is done. I mean, once they're finished they could cut away all the unneeded stuff outside of the lines. Sometimes they add glow outside the lines and I have to use the base layer to select and cut everything outside, away. Which means I might end up cutting things away that should be there. Oh well, for this one I want to make my own edits so it's pretty much OK whatever I do as long as at least 50% of the lines are still there
