I know Cherry, I was just being silly
When we were kids my sister would draw with lots of small lines, just like you. I'd just press my pen so hard into the paper my lines couldn't be erased But now that I draw digitally I often start with a sketch where I allow the lines to be short and "insecure" if I need to, and then I add a layer on top to draw longer smoother lines when I know where to put them (kind of like tracing but tracing my own sketch). It helps for me, anyway

lol I could press the pen on the tablet ... this could .... noooo. Good advice with the other layer. It will be a try and error situation I think.

Feathering was a technique that stunted my drawing development for years. Try and lengthen your lines and allow them to flow. It will result in waviness no doubt, but you can correct that as you go.

What I struggle with is line weight. I think it is more of a technical thing, but it would be great to draw a line that didn't vary in thickness as I go.

Charlotte's advice is ideal and works for me too. Light sketch followed by more permanent lines.

But, once more for emphasis, feathering line work is a bad habit. One that has taken me a long time to break!

Lines that are perfectly uniform in width tend to end up looking very dull in my opinion. Some people (like me) struggle to vary the line weight, you know!

For art's sake, I agree. But for industry sake, there is often the need to keep line weight consistent. For example, when drawing cell shaded characters, or making line art for colouring books and so forth.

I would like to know how to do that for when I get asked to do those 'very dull', but still monetarily worth while projects!
