It's very depressing how quick this painting happens. And it isn't even speeded up!!

Yes, but even the bits that you see him do "live" have more detail than all of my "finished" acrylic paintings despite the fact that they take me days/weeks/months to do.
And that quick glaze is super depressing.

I thought it was uplifting. Like, oh it's that simple? But that's only because I've not tried it myself, yet, of course.

It usually consists of 20 mins of being to scared to do it, bringing the brush close and then chickening out repeatedly. Finally you get the courage to do it and then...
It's too dark! Dilute it with water, with medium, with ... something!? But it still looks wrong! Quick wipe it off, WIPE IT OFF, WIPEITOFFFF! Oh no, now it's stained the paper even though it only touched it for TWO SECONDS! Now I'll have to slap some opaque white on it and repaint the underpainting but that'll make the corrected area too thick and it'll have a different texture to the rest of the picture. Oh, why did I try to do a glaze??


And if you want all that to be a more realistic description then insert a swear word every time you see a space.

Maybe that's why he does those tiny fast things... If the glaze fails he can just do another... (Except I guess he doesn't have an unlimited supply of those white backed cards)

I guess I won't bother learning how to paint landscapes.
