Yeah, the suggestion of an ugly beige outfit is another giveaway. They didn't seem to have a clothing budget until season 3 and all the mismatched, oversized early stuff looks like it came from a charity shop.

She has an interesting face to draw though, I've done her before and she's not the most difficult likeness to get. Her features always make me think of some kind of bird, an owl maybe, with the big eyes and the very narrow nose. Perhaps that kind of abstraction helps a bit when doing these things.

Banj: I recognised the face but didn't recognise the name and started to doubt myself. But google tells me I was right and that I DID recognise that face from the show I never watched.

I quite like this one and may continue it after I finish the current challenge.

Ouch! This one hurts.
I found Spike to be very, very difficult. It was an awful struggle trying to stop him looking like England goalkeeper Joe Hart!

There's something terribly wrong with the eyes, and the nose is off but I'm posting it just to force me to stop working on it.



I may try again sometime from different references but not until I've forgotten about this one.

I think it's definately Spike - and I can't see anything terribly wrong about the eyes. I do think maybe the corners of the mouth are a bit off though? But I haven't compared to a photo, maybe I just misremember. I think Banj's version had a more accurate looking mouth, but I guess I'll have to do an image search when I get home, and refresh my memory...

Still not convinced by it one day later, but you're right, the mouth is a bit off as well. He seems to have two default expressions: the pout and the lob-sided, sinister smirk, perhaps I was trying to do both with just one mouth.
And I agree that Banj did much better and in a simpler way.

But I do like the ear, at least.
