I can't remember if I mentioned starting to watch Hinterland only to realise I had seen it before and I was apparently notified of it as new because there was a new season. Anyway I started from the beginning and recognised the first 1,5 seasons. I might just ahve completely forgotten the episodes but I suspect I got annoyed or bored with the series and just stopped watching. And tonight's episode is reminding me why. I mean, just how many times does DCI Mathias have to blind the viewer with his silly little flash light? And why can't he bloody work in the day time like a normal person? He ALWAYS returns to the crime scene at night with that little flash light of his. Isn't it the criminal who's supposed to return to the scene of the crime???

Apart from that, there's a lot of concentrated looks, like these cops really do a lot of heavy thinking. "We have an address!" Says the assistant officer. DCI Mathias frowns deeply and ponders for several minutes before deciding to go to said address. Also, I'm not sure if the guy who almost died was supposed to have attempted suicide or someone attempted murder - they haven't mentioned it - but if it was suicide how did he bar the door from the outside???

There's a lot of annoying stuff in this series. Maybe if they removed all that, the episodes would be a bit shorter than 90 minutes, as well. Say... 45?

I started watching Citadel last night. Can't remember if it's a Disney or Amazon show but it's appeared on a free TV thingy recently so I thought I'd give it a go and.. it's a bit flimsy. Feels a bit like a kids TV show even though it obviously isn't. On the plus side the episodes are quite short so I got through half the series in under two hours and it makes a change from my usual Star Trek/X-Files rewatch marathons.
