A bit, yes. But I kinda got used to it. Deadpool, does it too, you know!

Don't like Deadpool either. (But that's for other reasons.)

I'm not completely against "talking to camera" but sometimes it feels like a very lazy way to adapt a book to screen. Instead of creating scenes to explain things the writers just lift large chunks of prose and have the character read it out loud for the audience. At its worst it just feels like you're watching an audiobook.

It works best when it's an integral part of the character and their thoughts like Dexter or Fight Club, there's also an old British show called Lovejoy that was famous for doing it, but here in Enola it did seem more like the lazy kind of writing.

well, for once a trailer that didn't give the whole story away.... or anything else. It's been a while since I've seen a trailer that made everything seem totally uninteresting...
