I haven't even gone out, let alone do anything after going out

I used far too many layers trying to get that dino skin right. Soft Light, Luminosity, Colour, Multiply, Screen, etc.
It was very frustrating and it still isn't right on the neck and back leg.
I may continue to mess with it a bit.
Or maybe I should start the monthly challenge.

Seeing as we had a heatwave and then thunderstorms last week, I never got further than the grocery store. My condolences to Dr Alan Grant :( Anyway, it's Monday and a new week and time for a new creature of some sort. I tried finding a random creature generator that would just give the name of something but everything is AI these days... *pout* so...

Week 3, Release the Kraken!

Seeing as it might not be easy to find a large enough body of water for a whole kraken, a tentacle or maybe even just some suction cup marks will do. As usual, it's getting outside that's important :)

I don't really live by the sea. :nope:
It's two photos combined. One for the water and one for the sky. :stare:

EDIT: And I confess, the water photo was taken last week but the sky was from today. :aha:

Heron!
I am kind of thinking that the middle tentacle should have a reflection in the water too :hmm: But other than that very impressive (and fast)!

I'll see if I can get down to the (mini) harbour today - I still have to work a bit more and the weather seems a bit undecided but that's probably better than scorching sun, anyway.

Yes, the big bird was very exciting to see. And very close too, that isn't a zoom photo. :)
I kinda wish I'd waited to paint it cos today's skies were better with bigger clouds that would have made a more dramatic reflection.
But I may fiddle with it and add the missing tentacle reflection later.

I got out - but I didn't paint anything yet. I decided to go another way down to the water and discovered a shortcut to the local beach (one everyone but me probably knew about, that is). I scared off a few deer, a couple of which had really impressive horns, saw a snake in the water (swimming right at the bathers, so I made them aware) and a bunch of butterflies that kept flying off if I tried to photograph them :shakefist: I also tried to decide whether the swallows were "barn swallows" or "house swallows" (no idea of British names) but they were a tad too far away. Except the one that almost flew right into me outside the café where I also stopped... But I think that was a tornseglare (tower sailer, again no idea of British name - looks like a swallow but isn't).
