I certainly wasn't suggesting you get rid of GW2.
It's not something i would want to get rid of now either.

I just remember it being much bigger than I expected when I considered installing it. Of course after that awkward experience with the Star Trek thing I'm glad I didn't bother. If I can't run that then there's no way Guild Wars would run locally for me.

I do think they're very inefficient with their file sizes these days, I don't see why any game should really be over 15GB.

And the game creators don't see why any game should be smaller than that, given that computers get bigger and bigger all the time (memory size wise). Also, you should of course only ever play their game(s) which means you don't need all those other games anyway....

Oh dear... The Blue Screen of Restart...

half of my laptop keyboard is getting uncomfortably warm....(But both the computer and I survived the blue screen of restart yesterday - in case anyone was left in doubt)

Try typing with oven gloves.


Is it a consequence of using an external drive?

I dunno - maybe it always get warm... I've always used an external keyboard and screen and the laptop has been to the side. Except since the move, and it has been warm since then too but maybe not quite so much.... I guess putting ice on it would not be a very good idea...


EDIT: Hopefully getting the dust and cat hairs out of the ventilation thingy might help

Meanwhile.... After eating strawberries with dad and then coming back home because I really needed to pee, I dropped my phone in the toilet. Unfortunately for the phone I didn't realise until I was leaving the bathroom...

I think it survived, though. Time will tell...
