Speaking of PKD, did you watch the recent Electric Dreams series?

Yes I did and completely hated nearly every single one. I quite enjoyed the Timothy Spall one but then I quite like Timothy Spall.
They all seemed very small scale and 'domestic' to me - not in terms of budget but some other quality I can't quite put my finger on.
I wonder if they were trying to keep too close to the original - film is different from the written word and I'm not entirely sure that particularly faithful translations ever really work with source material like PKD.
Game of Thrones is an obvious exception but I think it works much better because the source material is more up to date and written by someone who lives in our modern world of visual literacy.
David Fincher did a fantastic job on Fight Club (imho), the book if you haven't read it is spectacular (as is everything else by Chuck Palahniuk) but where the movie works is in his interpretation of the novel as opposed to his dogged slavery to it.
I'm not saying that always works though - look at the hash of a job they did with the original Total Recall and The Running Man.

I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday, now I have a whole extra day to do at work that i wasn't banking on. Sucks

Personally I'm not sure but I have had days when I've woken up wondering if it's today or tomorrow...

I swear, this kind of thing must be going around! ... Last Friday I woke up to use the restroom around 4 in the morning. And I remember thinking 'man, I'm so glad it's Saturday' I can finally sleep in. - But then reality hit a few seconds later and I realized it wasn't and that I had to get back up for work in an hour! ... I was actually quite bummed out for most of the morning.
