Intel has a similar setup btw, (same place as Nvidia) but it can't detect the monitor....
(on the other hand file explorer is back to pretending it's open...)

As much as you don't want to, resetting to an earlier time as Banj suggested may be your only choice? (Thought, it still might not solve the monitor recognition issue? But hopefully does.) I've had to reset many times before in the past, and it usually reminded me to look into using something for this purpose, since in some cases the last save-point was days or even weeks before. So I've been using Time Machine with mine. I've heard it's not the best out there for this, especially if you have documents you just can't lose no matter what, but most say it's sufficient for most and works well for most users overall. I like that it's set to auto-save each hour, and I believe you can even set it for shorter times?
I get sketchy around pencils! ...
