Oh god why??? 

Looks pretty good though, at first glance I thought you had imported a 3d crown.

I don't usually do one bit at a time like this. I'm sure that - and the grey scale - will come back to bite me in the end. Again, if there is an end... 
Anyhow, enough for today. The eyes look wonky to me. 

 

Edit: PS, I see I forgot to work on his mouth It'll be a bit lighter eventually...

Just lower the pupil a couple of pixels on the left side eye and darken the bit of the iris closest to the nose and it should be OK.

Looking great, love how you rendered the face!  You're right about the eyes, he has a slight cross eyed look to him.  Other than that it's shaping up well, and your color choices here are excellent!

I took Val's advice and I think the eyes are fixed but I'm still no where near finished even with the greyscale... I'll just blame Merlin, alright? It has nothing to do with me playing more Palia than usual....
