Repaint



Brief: You see this here painting shown here? It is "Girl in a wooded landscape" by Antoine Auguste Ernest Hebert. Your challenge, should you chose to accept it, is to repaint it in your own style. That's it, off you go.

Deadline: Midnight on Wednesday 30th of April. There will now be no voting and no eventual winner, this is just a creative exercise with a time limit.

Rules in brief:
- All challenge entries must be your own work.
- You should post at least two WIP images that are clearly different from your final entry and each other.
- Your final entry should contain your image (inserted so it shows up full size) and at least two links to your WIP posts on the forum.
- No chatter in the finals thread – if you have questions, post them in the WIP thread or PM an admin.
- Feedback is allowed & encouraged together with the voting and in the WIP thread.
- Deadline is given in UK time (midnight UTC) with a grace period of 5 minutes for getting the post sorted.
- Each member may cast one vote.
- No cheating! Admins may decide to disqualify an entry that does not adhere to the above rules.

Are you insinuating that I, ME, actually forgot to attach the very image required by the challenge? If so, then you would be right 

I started doing this painting the other day...

 

 

 

...and I slowly realised that my painting style (or the style I try to do at least) isn't that different from old paintings even though the quality is obviously vastly different.

So I started messing about with Blender too...

 

May continue with both.
May abandon both.
We'll see.

Some more polygons for that extra special lumpiness and some colours...

 

The top of the head is a complete mess for some reason but it doesn't matter cos it's covered up.
The voxel remesh went crazy so I resorted to multiple subdivisions and that has also caused a problem which I didn't spot right away. Can't go back now but like I said, it's covered up so who cares? It was probably a consequence of my usual dodgy topology.
I've also got a single rigged hand done (which looks strangely male at the moment) but I'm only gonna introduce it after I've posed the body and broken the symmetry and that will only happen after I've done the texturing of the face. I'm only bothering to do what will be visible in the final image rather than doing a full body, which would probably take me beyond the deadline.
