CGAN May-23 Challenge: Star Wars WIPs

Weirdo.

...and now I've given myself a bigger headache than usual trying to work out why my custom brushes can only paint stuff black.

Sometimes it creates a brush texture and sometimes it's a brush texture mask.
Anyway... I've had enough for the day despite achieving nothing. Painkillers?

I just do it like I did when I hand coded vrml stuff. I make a texture and and then I select what facesgo where on that texture so it looks.... decent, at least. Simple textures, simple 3D models.

Not that I'd mind being able to make better stuff
I just can't be bothered with all those tutorial videos where people just talk and talk about irrelevant or obvious stuff and then mention that difficult/important stuff so quickly you miss it the first three times.
(Ok, I admit I usually don't even start watching the videos. But still.)

I quite like the Blender Secrets channel. They have lots of good tips that are explained quickly and simply without the usual filler that plagues most YouTube videos.
Anyway, remember how Banj's UV grids  looked really clean?  
Well, erm...

It's done it again!!!
Why doesn't it automatically save the painted textures with the (SWEAR WORD) file????

I love the way that the number on the nose (half an eight?) is about three times bigger than all the others. And the distortion on the flat part of the wings is less than ideal.
But they don't overlap.

I did manage to paint all the basic colour patterns and stripes to leave it looking like a clean plastic toy and I now need to make it a bit grubby and dirty. I tried to do that just before bed last night but the custom brush decided to not work again for reasons I don't understand.
