CGAN Feb 23 - Fairy Tale - WIPs

I saw a post on FB today that reminded me of Hans - though I find it interesting that this 18th century event would be the beginning of a story said (elsewhere) to have its origin thousands of years ago... 

Anyway I tried sharing to Banj on there but that broke FB (well, froze my view of it...) so...:
 
 

Thanks, yeah it's interesting. I have a book (possibly more) that mention that and show that painting, usually in relation to the origins of werewolf myths.

A bit more ink, and a bit more working out spines 

 

EDIT - And now I've decided to make the head bigger 

The contrast in the shaded area is making that look very nice indeed.

Instead of starting something else I just find myself fiddling with that damn 3D wolf.


 

 

 

It doesn't look as floofy now and it's better than the last aborted time I tried this during that Jon Snow pic but it's still not what I had in mind. And it seems rather unlikely that I'll also be able to sculpt Red Riding Hood AND a background before the deadline but..

There's no saying you have to include everything. Big bad wolf, maybe a "lost" red cape and the rest is implied. Well, except the background...
For the wolf, though, it currently seems to have a lizard tail (if a furry one)...

Yeah the tale is a little odd, I think the rest of the wolf looks great.

As far as mine is concerned, I did make the head larger which I think works better but I now dislike Hans' hands which look like they were drawn by an incompetent idiot. So I think I'll redraw those so they look like they were drawn by a slightly more competent idiot  I should probably have sorted all this out in the pencils to begin with before I started inking it

And isn't that always the case... the not thinking far enough ahead when sketching, I mean.
