Bilbo's Birthday Bash

Brief: It's 20 years since the first of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies and we're celebrating with a birthday party! Whether you want to capture Bilbo himself, the feast, a tower of gifts, or the whole shebang in some massively epic wide angle scene, or some other aspect, we're having fun in the Shire this month.  

Deadline: Tuesday the 30th of November at midnight (UTC).

This thread is where you post your WIPs (work in progress). Finals should be posted over here:

Rules in brief:
- All challenge entries must be your own work.
- You should post at least two WIP images that are clearly different from your final entry and each other.
- Your final entry should contain your image (inserted so it shows up full size) and at least two links to your WIP posts on the forum.
- No chatter in the finals thread – if you have questions, post them in the WIP thread or PM an admin.
- Feedback is allowed & encouraged together with the voting and in the WIP thread.
- Deadline is given in UK time (midnight UTC) with a grace period of 5 minutes for getting the post sorted.
- Each member may cast one vote.
- No cheating! Admins may decide to disqualify an entry that does not adhere to the above rules.
 

I'm looking forward to seeing Valence recreate the entire birthday celebration in 3d with all the characters fully rigged and animated, complete with the fireworks effects

I'm not sure I'm ready for that!

This month isn't going too well.

This is my third attempt so far. After failing to do lots of celebrating hobbits I thought I'd switch and do the more poignant scene as Bilbo is trying to escape the party and leave the ring. And I'm not sure this one's working either.

 

 

May abandon this and try something else but at least I've finally managed to post something.
