May 2019 - Egyptian Gods - WIPs
Brief: Slightly later than intended... Create an illustration suitable for a card from a table top card game (think Magic the Gathering like) featuring an Egyptian God (you don't need to depict any card like icons etc, just the pic). Charlotte can come in and edit this if it wasn't what she meant
No thanks, Banj, this'll do fine

Re hands. First take photo of hand, use photo of hand as reference for drawing said hand in particular pose (at least that's what I did for this and the hand holding the khopesh took a while).

Two vague and unoriginal ideas came to mind. One of a statue god in a dusty indoor scene or a bigger landscape style with an equally bigger god.
The first one didn't work much so I learned my lesson from last month and switched quickly to the second.
I then tried to google for some more specific reference material and found an almost identical-looking scene from an Assassin's Creed game. *sigh*
Lack of originality is just soooo depressing.
Anyway, I'll keep going for now...
And until seeing Banj's puns I was certain that Horus was the doggie-faced one. But it's Anubis apparently.
I've been tentatively playing about with the idea of a staff bursting out of the foreground but that kind of messes up the view of the pyramids. Then again, seeing as they're a pathetic cliche anyway, maybe that's a good thing!
But do I really want to draw a big hand? Do I??
