I was thinking of sneaking the word clock in there, but maybe as a sunken relic from Atlantis in the form of a sundial. And maybe the big hook is there to bring it to the surface but the octopus isn't having any of that! :)

So you are going for warlords of Atlantis rather than Peter Pan :aha:

A bit more Octopus...

I may have to dig out that ellipse guide to add the details to the sundial.
The Ellipse Guide!

Well, there's one of those old-fashioned stencil things that you have to position on screen and then draw around. :)

oh. I guess I never used it. Or realised how it could be used... :P I occasionally make my own stencils for specific uses but the ones included with the program are rarely useful, I think?

And I think last my program checked for updates it found one but I clicked the info away too fast to see properly or do anything about it... (It checks once a week anyhow)

Lots of software seem to have little features that are hidden away somewhere.
Yesterday I found out that you can use ArtRage scripts to repaint your pictures at higher resolutions instead of just rescaling it (with all the awful pixellation that comes with that.)
So I gave it a go... and found out that it only works "properly" with versions 4 and 5.
Hidden features give ... and then take away. :)

I might have to try that one... unless I have to script the script myself? :P

Loving the texture on the Octopus and hook Val and I think the clock is a nice addition. Often when I add extra elements they look forced and 'crowbared' in but this sits very natural to me.
Done some more on mine - I'm getting very frustrated with this at the moment (well with art in general right now) I'm not sure if I've plateaued again or have just lost my patience with the time it takes me to do anything.

No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.

Yep, I get frustrated like that too sometimes.
No, who am I kidding? I feel like that ALL the time.

Sometimes it helps me to try and paint quicker in a more loose style, then, whatever the result, I don't have as much time to get frustrated. And the subsequent vague brush strokes often look better than the details that I would have wasted time on anyway.
I do seem to make more progress when I stop caring about what it'll end up looking like. But that 'not caring' is super hard. :)

Anyway... Don't get frustrated cos this is looking fab so far!
