Care to collaborate

I thought it might be nice, if any of the other forumites were willing, to offer (or seek) collaborative input into any artworks that we may already have that could do with a little something.

For example, I have this piece from ages ago that I have decided to try to finish off, but I am a bit lost for what to do with the background. If anyone else would like to take the background up as a challenge and add it to my forground, we could call it a collaborative work.

If it is a success, that is, if there are a few who would like to get involved, perhaps it could even be a by-monthly challenge thing too, with different themes that more than one artist, per entry could get involved in.

Just a thought, but at least if I could get a bit of help with this piece, that would be a start! Thanks guys!


I have put two versions up. One with a grey background and the other with a white background. I thought it might make it easier to isolate the background if it was all one colour (or shade).

Actually Dom, this is similar to something I was going to suggest just now in the suggestion area. But it basically was to do with color. I'll check back after getting some feedback on it. And I do remember you working on this piece and it would be nice to see it completed.

If you could upload a version as a PNG with a transparent background that would make things easier for anyone trying to work with it. As it is trying to take out the background is a bit problematic thanks to the hair.

It's definitely a nice piece and it'll be good to see it finished.
I think the idea of doing collaborative work is really good. I imagine it would be a great way to get an insight on other people's workflow and a great way to try some different styles.

Can we even post up in any other format, other than jpeg?

I thought the file might be too big.

You should be able to upload PNG files but the max file size has to be under 512kb for any attachments.

EDIT - The other option would be to upload the file somewhere else and add a link, or use something like dropbox.

Ok Banj, I will look into this formatting stuff and try again.

I just hope the idea takes off. It would be really interesting to see what two or more minds could do with the same piece! Kinda like a mega paintover!

Check your settings for the save. Is transparency switched on? For me at least it still has a background
