That's a nice little sketch. I'd always go for a painterly style but that's because I can't do linework.
You do seem to have those skills so go with what feels right.

I might try to make it more paintery as I usually revert to my comic art comfort zone :p The grades went far better than I expected A* AA!!!! Now I just need to decide which art uni to apply to

Congrats on the grades and good luck in the application process
Look forward to seeing this colored in and agree with others this one would make a nice divergence from you normal style...you can always do it both ways....good practice either way.
