And oh look there's more since I clicked reply
I think your shading and values are good but you could watch the anatomical proportions. Especially on Arnold, but also on Thor, the lower arms (and hands) look very small compared to their upper torsos/shoulders/heads.

As you've noticed, proportions are something I'm still finding tricky at the moment - I'm tending to focus on one area of a drawing at a time and not see it as a whole, so that's something I'll need to be working on

Since you seem to like to draw portraits so much you should definitely consider looking through and copying down everything in this book:
www.amazon.com/Drawing-Head-Hands-Andrew...id=1404696999&sr=1-1
That book goes over the proportions of the head in a very clear way that no other book (from what I know of) does. It will go over how to construct the head and how to keep the proportions in line. Just make sure to copy everything you see in the book and for every page you copy on do your own heads from imagination to get the hang of the process. With enough practice you won't need to start with the construction lines and you'll just be able to naturally think of them before starting but it takes a lot of practice first.
Good luck

Have you done any of your own stuff? These seem to be mostly drawings of photos or cover art. I would like to see some of your original stuff.
