I just made the mistake of watching the first episode of Black Mirror. If the rest of the episodes are similar I can't understand how the series made 6 seasons.

Pretty much everyone will tell you to skip the first episode.

You can pick and choose whichever episodes you want to watch throughout all the seasons. I think I've only ever seen three or four from some of the more recent years.

Well, I''ve understood as much as them not being connected, but I'm not sure I care for a series that isn't... I never did get into those love death & robots things either... And now, even though I wish someone HAD told me not to watch the first episode, I also wish to find out who the "terrorist" was and who that finger belonged to. And I never will because there's no sequel to that episode (as far as I know). Stoopid show.
