Of Mars

Brief: Time to paint something related to the Edgar Rice Burroughs stories of Barsoom.

Deadline: Midnight on Sunday the 31st of March.

- You should post at least two WIP images that are clearly different from your final entry and each other.
- Your final entry should contain your image (inserted so it shows up full size) and at least two links to your WIP posts on the forum.

- Feedback is allowed & encouraged together with the voting and in the WIP thread.

There's a lovely depth to those dark, reflective eyes and the pose gives the creature a recognisable personality as it waits to pounce. The anatomy is well defined too and seems perfectly credible and understandable with the required number of legs.

Nice to see a video as well but all those layers were very scary for me.

So I too shall vote for cat ..erm... I mean Banj.

The multi limbed anatomy is tricky to sort out but I think you did a decent job of all those arms. I think maybe the hand at the top of the spear (below the sword hand) is holding the spear oddly. I also just noticed, but now can't unnotice  that there is a cool shadow from the spear crossing his legs... but the sun is behind him  And another great ground texture 

Maybe Mars has two suns?

The bit at the back was intended to be a kind of hazy mist/dust-storm thing but when I did some necessary colour curve corrections that area suddenly lit up like a physics-defying thing.

Mars always needed more suns anyway.
