Why is it that the more stupid things a politician says, the more support they get? 
Every time someone says something truly stupid or abhorrent I think "That should show their followers what kind of people they are - now their support will plummet" and every time, I'm wrong
I guess what it really does, is show us all how many people walk around with truly awful moral values. 
I am mostly talking about some right wing Swedish politicians, but Trump is a good example as well.
