Hmm... I wonder if we'll see a prequel explaining the same about Gimli?
Btw, does any of you know the time involved in these stories? In the Hobbit movies Bilbo is reasonably young, and in the LOTR movies he's 111 years old. Yet in the Hobbit movies Aragorn is already born and already has his nickname (which suggests he's a grown ranger). So when Aragorn appears in the LOTR movies he's like 80 or 90 years old? He sure didn't look it... (Or young Bilbo is a lot older than I think...)

I can't remember his exact age, but yes, he is somewhere around that.

EDIT: Google is great... Aragorn was 90 when he became King and lived to 210... Wow, he sure looked good for his age...
