CGAN Sept24 - Macguffin - WIPs

It's not about copyright, it's about wanting to look at the actual thing to know what it looks like instead of some artificial fabrication of what some AI generator thinks the thing looks like.

For me it's less worrying about copyright and more about the feeling of wasting your time knowing that out there someone spent a few seconds typing some words and already generated a picture like the one I'm struggling to paint.

Anyway, here's where I'm at...

 

One of the best cinematic examples of the Macguffin reveal is that moment in Lord Of The Rings just before Boromir picks it up and you see the ring in extreme close up looking huuuuge and important. That's the kind of thing I've been trying to do. I really wanted to do it in Blender but my failures at hard-surface stuff sent me back to painting.
I'd like the foreground orb to have a nice shiny gold ring with detailing and maybe have some kind of stars or a galaxy inside to symbolise some intangible mystical power.  And I want the heroes of the story to be on that upper level at the back but I don't know yet whether to have them as tomb raiding people or astronaut people.

Well, then, at least the heroes haven't been turned into skellingtons yet.

I'd say I've been busy working on that lady of the woods painting but I think that was actually last month...
