Well, after playing around some more I ended up with something looking like a blobby Saddam Hussein.
I think I might be better off trying to paint. (No I didn't take any more screenshots, nor did I save it.)

To be honest, that's pretty much my normal workflow too. You just have to keep going until the blobbiness goes away.
And always save.
You can sometimes use your "failed" meshes as a starting point for something else.

Meh. 

I made a different thing. Well same thing, kind of. Just a simple model of the view... except it turns out that you can't really get a good view unless your in an aeroplane or something  

 

I was hoping the rings would be large enough to be seen from the "temple" but it would have to be placed on a much "slimmer" and steeper and taller stupid mountain.

It was meant to be to scale but I realised that since I accidentally made the moats twice as wide as they should be, the temple is actually only half the size it should be too. Or is that 25% when it's area?

Anyway, I didn't actually use km but rather a 1:1000 scale but it would be the same size as the Parthenon - or half, that is.

Anyway, very big ants.
