January 2021 - Hatchery - WIPs

Thanks Val. I was struggling with a colour scheme and with making those eggs a focal point so I’m really glad that came across. I took inspiration from a Blizzard Entertainment image where the artist had used that acidic green for the same purpose.

This might not look like much right now, but in 6 days time it probably wont look like much then either

Looks a bit like an oven now. Are you hatching or cooking the eggs?

I felt like drawing something after playing lots of Subnautica the last few days... so it's Subnautica inspired (but not depicting anything actually from the game in case Banj's worried about spoilers).




The perspective is terribly wonky, I know. I should probably have made a simple 3D model for reference for those pesky elliptical shapes (although I'm mostly bothered by the square shape at the top, for now)

Changed the top slightly and decided to use some in game refs for the plants (refs included)

I like the style of the darker tone bleeding down from the top of the egg. Will look great with colour.
