Sept 2017 - Back to the Drawing Board - WIPs

I have plenty of old unfinished stuff... And to keep myself from sleeping all day (which didn't stop me from napping) I decided to try to do something about that. I chose a drawing from (I think) the mid 90'ies that I never finished because I wasn't happy with my line work. (Didn't have an undo button on my ink pen...)

It's probably a bad choice for the challenge both because it never was finished and because it's a distinct style other than my own.... But I always did feel it deserved a second chance, so here's the original (sorry for the blurriness) and wip1 and 2. (The pink fill on wip 2 is merely so I don't get too confused seeing background and forground lines at once...)

Love the Art Nouveau style!
The facial proportions look much better in this version and I'm envious of all the intricate linework in the creature.

I've been trying to remember if I've ever heard anyone say they hate art nouveau? I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't exactly care for it, but I'm not sure if there's anyone who has a decided dislike of it...

And yeah the old face was probably what made me stop working on it way back then. I always did like the little dragon so I tried to make that fairly similar still.

WIP3, most foreground linework should be done assuming I don't change my mind about a million things. I'm kind of wishing I'd done long hair again, but oh well...

I made this for a friends record label, seeing as it's basically a shadow figure, I can redesign her, give her the 3D volumptuous treatment!
