We have again got the ability to upload images. Unfortunately it was necessary to move to a different system than we were using previously, and migration of the existing image uploads is not possible. The new gallery system is also profile based, so no dedicated gallery page to browse (uploads are displayed in the activity stream). On the up side is the fact that you can upload files other than images (e.g. you can share brush files, templates etc.), and link thumbnails to files located on other sites. It should also be possible to link to video files although I was struggling with getting it to recognise Youtube links.
I will add a list of supported file types here at some point. Currently image uploads are limited to a maximum pixel size of 2048 x 2048.

zip, rar, doc, txt maximum size 5mb
jpg/ jpeg, png, gif - maximum dimensions 2048x2048 and maximum file size of 2mb
Thumbnails are 320x640 with a maximum file size of 1mb
