Well each mesh in Blender becomes a nitrishape in the nif file... And that's as much as I know about that :P

*continues playing with geometry nodes*

*fails to understand why my randomised vector math rotation setup doesn't work*

Two days later after much frustration...

It's in radians! :rage:
Why does the little input box say degrees when it really wants radians? :shakefist:

*changes 90 to pi/2*

:eyeroll:

Edit: And now I can't get the textures to scale correctly. :pout:

Big City made with geometry nodes. :stare:

Sadly the texturing still isn't going as I would like. :(
Obviously I'm not gonna go in and UV every single building you can see. Obviously.
There's really only five (or maybe six. I can't remember now. :dumb:) little blocks that are arranged and rotated and (more importantly) scaled and this scaling really does mess up any textures you apply, whether they're image textures or procedural.
I've tried to do a mixture of both and got to this stage...

...but I'd really prefer it to be better.
Part of me thinks it may be possible to capture the geometry node scale of each instance as an attribute/variable and then feed that back into the texture nodes and do more vector maths to divide with the correct axis but...
I don't know what I'm doing here.

Looks like it's going pretty well so far, I wouldn't worry too much as it's likely to all get trashed by a giant monster at some point

A giant monster?
:argh:

Yes, I haven't sculpted any details yet, it's not really gonna be a massive sock-puppet.
But I have managed to block out a basic anatomical shape with just quads! :woohoo:
Does this mean I'm gonna do a proper subdivided quad sculpt with actual UV texturing?
:hmm:
I dunno. :S

EDIT: And why does typing the ohmy code result in the eek emoji? Never mind I changed it back in with the popup menu.

EDIT - I fixed the emote issue, I had mistakenly assigned the wrong gif as they have similar names.

Yes "oh my" and "eek" are very similar

The names of the gif files, not the names of the emotes
