I really can't understand how hard surface modelling is so difficult for you - it's just flat surfaces, it's like the easiest thing to do? :dumb:

Yeah, it's not just flat though. It's smoothly curved things too.
I prefer the squidgy, lumpy stuff.

But I did finally install that ReTopoFlow addon that Banj told me about previously and... it's really good.
Admittedly I did have to watch a quick YouTube video to see how it worked after being initially confused but it's definitely a useful thing. :aha:

EDIT: And now the real-time raytracing works fine! I guess the new version is still a little buggy. ;)

I was hoping to get more done today but all I "finished" is a pair of tweezers...
I'm not sure I will ever manage to finish any Skyrim mods. At first, my "first one", the Karthwasten tavern mod, was just supposed to be a learning thing... but then I was thinking how I want to replace the two mods I have that add a bunch of extra NPCs (450-500 or so, between them) and decided that maybe the Karthwasten thing could be part of that. And started on a Dawnstar one. (Adding a Hall of the Dead.) I'm still clueless about whether I should work on it as one big mod or as several smaller and add them up when done, but that's a later problem. Hopefully one that can be solved later.

Anyway, I kept telling myself I would just use vanilla assets, unless I absolutely had to add something. And then that tutorial building was all wrong. And I named my tavern the Silver Boar so of course I needed a boar's head on the wall. And for Dawnstar, first the basement pieces wouldn't add up unless I made a huge basement, so I had to add a new corner piece. Then I felt that the 4000 years old linen wraps wouldn't do for "modern" nords, so I had to make new linen piles. And now I'm working on a "medkit" of sorts, as 4000 years old embalming tools feel wrong too - and so does the Dark Brotherhood torture kit.

Anyway, I only have the forceps left. Or not, because I need to make a kit/bag thingy told all the tools, and I'm thinking maybe a jar of leeches and also maybe a "listening tube". I'm thinking the priests in the Hall of the Dead might double as doctors when the need arises and potions won't be enough or aren't available.

I'm probably thinking too much. I'm also thinking maybe (maybe!) it'd be fun to make a modding resource kit or two. Like make dungeon pieces or something and make them all available for others without them needing to "collect" all my smaller mods. That I haven't actually done yet. A girl can dream, I suppose... :sleepy:

Anyway, too tired to make any tubes or forceps now. And if I make leeches, shouldn't they be alive = animated? :argh:

Back to TV. Or bed. Or TV. I can't decide.

Where IS that thing??? That thing that's kind of annoying but useful that tells you exactly how much you just moved something in Blender and where you can adjust the movement to, for instance, exactly 4 cm instead of whatever arbitrary cm, mm and micrometers Blender chooses to move something to when you TRY to move it exactly 4 cm?

I've no idea where it's gone, but it's gone and I'm also not sure what it's called so I dunno how to find it again!

And I need it NOW. :stare:

Yes, that one.

As mentioned in shout box it reappeared, which was good because it would have been awfully hard to get an appropriately sized torus without it.

I decided to return to my Founders Fortunes modding today since I still just feel kind of stuck on the Skyrim things and can't decide what to work on first. Not that I can decide with regards to FF either: what got me started was several potential addons to previously finished mods. But instead I managed to fix up a couple of issues with already done items for an unfinished mod. (Mostly UV-mapping)

4 items fixed, another 30 or so to make? :dumb:
(and over 50 done, though all the thumbnailing, position correcting, localizing or whatsitcalled etc is still left to do on pretty much all of them)

...if you did mean that then you can make it appear at the cursor at any time by pressing F9 or you can get it via the menu by clicking: EDIT>ADJUST LAST OPERATION.
:stare:

And after searching I've found that it's called the Parameter Window.

EDIT: And your post appeared after I'd started typing. :)

Thank you anyway.
Not that I'll remember any of this the next time it refuses to appear... :dumb:
