I'm just curious, since this forum largely came about because of the closure of ImagineFX's forum, if anyone had been in contact with IFX's editors? Maybe we could get a plug as the unofficial IFX forum in the magazine? Or are we cutting ties with IFX all together?

The IFX team knows we've migrated over here and have been invited to visit, but since we're not affiliated with the magazine it's up to them if they want to feature the new forum in some small way.

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

The team didn't want the forum to close, it was the publishers so i'm thinking they aren't going to be that interested in promoting us, but you never know :)

I did wonder...

... it's a pity they have just dumped the community. It wont do them any favours with popularity! It was such an attractive feature of the magazine to have challenge-winner art in it. But it was often even more than that, in that they would frequently ask members for input on articles or artists that would also get into the magazine.

All that collaboration will be missing now, and with it the sense that the community mattered. How sad...

Everything's on the right!!!

That's very true Dom, I think we felt part of the mag as the IFX gang listened and took on board stuff. Short sighted money saving exercise.

We'll look at us now :)

Agreed! I think this site is specflippintacular, so I for one am glad that we have the community safe in hand right here!

I really meant what I said on the previous site, this is simply the nicest, most supportive art group I have ever seen on the internet. It's great here!

..... maybe we should make our own magazine up!! That'll learn 'um!!

ImagineFX ties? Perfect for Father's Day. Except I never wear a tie...
Oh. Wait. Never mind.
In my experience, publishers don't meticulously oversee what editorial does. So it's very possible that Claire & Co. will not only mention CG Art Nexus, but might possibly even add a regular feature. "Hey look! We stopped paying for the forums, but still have forums!"
