CGAN June 26 - Leprechaun - WIPs

The Leprechaun

Brief: Interpret the title as you wish into some kind of creative visual brilliance.

Deadline: Midnight on Tuesday 30th of June. There will now be no voting and no eventual winner, this is just a creative exercise with a time limit.

Rules in brief:
- All challenge entries must be your own work.
- You should post at least two WIP images that are clearly different from your final entry and each other.
- Your final entry should contain your image (inserted so it shows up full size) and at least two links to your WIP posts on the forum.
- No chatter in the finals thread. If you have questions, post them in the WIP thread or PM an admin.
- Feedback is allowed & encouraged together with the voting and in the WIP thread.
- Deadline is given in UK time (midnight UTC) with a grace period of 5 minutes for getting the post sorted.
- No cheating! Admins may decide to disqualify an entry that does not adhere to the above rules.

A bit of scribbly painting was done...

 

Without any scary bleeps or battery swallowing.

I think it's about that time when I have to try and find some hand references.

 

Hands might be a bit blurry at the moment but the face is superb.

So this is pretty much where I am and have been for ... over a week I think. I did some doodling with pen and paper while listening to a digital presentation and this is basically the best sketch redone digitally. Doesn't look like much yet, I know. I decided to try that "start with a distinct silhouette/geometric shape" kind of thing that IFX magazine used to advise. 

 

Wip 2, though I think I might change the size difference between them. Not entirely sure...

I like the very expressive pose and face of the leprechaun chap.

A bit more work with some hands and gold and nudging things around...

 

Needs a background and a better rainbow.
