Fairy Queen

Brief: Interpret the title into astounding imagery.

Deadline: Midnight the 30th of June.

Rules in brief:
- All challenge entries must be your own work.
- You should post at least two WIP images that are clearly different from your final entry and each other.
- Your final entry should contain your image (inserted so it shows up full size) and at least two links to your WIP posts on the forum.
- No chatter in the finals thread – if you have questions, post them in the WIP thread or PM an admin.
- Feedback is allowed & encouraged together with the voting and in the WIP thread.
- Deadline is given in UK time (midnight UTC) with a grace period of 5 minutes for getting the post sorted.
- Each member may cast one vote.
- No cheating! Admins may decide to disqualify an entry that does not adhere to the above rules.

I might make some progress with this if all these damn power cuts would stop.

Scribbled a basic outfit but I'm not sure about it yet so it's still on a separate layer...

Pfft. Hands. Feet... How about the whole damn thing?

I've totally forgotten how to paint.

I probably shouldn't waste time on her skin seeing as she's meant to have clothes on later... But I think the clothes might turn out to be kind of sheer in which case I do need her to be shaded underneath...

And I know what you mean about wasting time on the skin. I've been doing exactly the same because of being undecided about the clothing and how it will drape.

I've sort of got the feet in now but that other hand is still untouched until I can work out what it's supposed to look like.

Still can't find that other hand.

 

Scribbled a bit of bark in the background and the clothing is still on another layer but just knocking down the opacity doesn't quite work right so I'll need to make some decisions about which bits should be transparent and start messing about with soft erasers.
And it needs some multiply/screen layers to make the lighting a bit more natural.

Just need a large branch to quickly grow in front of that "hand".
