Apparently not always. Tonight it was a giant pre-historic murena that possibly could fly (alternately it fell to the bottom of the water somehow at some point). Also I was at some sort of live rp event at uni and I had no idea what we were supposed to do because the briefing before hand had been lousy. Anyway everybody ate truckloads of bread first, then grilled meat and finally when it was time for dessert, all the goodies decided to take revenge upon us all and tried to eat everyone.
But I guess that's off topic

In other, unrelated news, and I may have mentioned this before...
I hate drift racing!
I love racing to beat people, evading chases, even racking up costly damage in crashes, but contriving to slide your car round corners in order to be awarded arbitrary points is just baffling to me. Why???
I always try to avoid doing them but as I trudge ever onwards to the end of Need For Speed: Carbon I find myself having to participate in the odd drift event for the sake of progressing.
One of the things I really loved about NFS: Most Wanted was the complete lack of drift races in favour of those exciting cop chases where the helicopter swoops down to try and flip you. Even though I've completed the career/story in that one I'm still also going back for the challenge series. Annoyingly I'm stuck on number 53. I can stay over 10 seconds ahead of the countdown for the first few checkpoints but I seem to lose all that time during (and after) that tight left corner at 2:02. Very frustrating.
But just one more go!
