I tried to apply the Mesh-To-Volume modifier in order to reload the file back into Blender 2.83 (which is rendering everything fine but doesn't have that modifier) but I was greeted with the phrase...
"This modifier cannot be applied to this object."

I haven't tried a full Cycles render yet cos Cycles is sooo slow and it doesn't have bloom either so I'd then have to use the Fog Glow compositor node which isn't my favourite thing cos it blows out too many highlights across the image.
I may have to resort to cutting and pasting several different renders from different files and software, and maybe also using a PrntScrn of a higher-sampled version of the realtime viewport, which bizarrely still works even though the renderer crashes.
It's all very confusing.

Edit: Forgot to turn one of the engines on.

EDITS: And the atmosphere was glowing too much. I have now fixed that after much fiddling in the shading tab. Will try another render on another day.

Just extruded with single vertices and then made solid with the skin modifier. And I'm doing the wyvern style design cos I don't understand the anatomy of the ones with four legs plus wings.
Then again, I don't understand this one much either. Should the wings have four long vanes/fingers or three?
There's three and a "thumb" at the moment and if I'm gonna change it then that'll have to happen before I switch to sculpting mode.

In the past I've just looked at bats and gone with whatever they have. But then bats are small rodents not whacking great lizard monster things  so whatever looks cool is the answer
