Quick design sketches.







Rough anatomy wireframes. My approach is ever changing since everything is new so these are a bit sloppy.







Now these are getting serious! Study of the rib cage in perspective, how it converges, how the ellipses converge (or ribs). My perspective is really helping me here because I can "see" everything very easily!

Rendering studies. What happens to the value of objects that are within a cast shadow, and shadow overlapping.







Rough update on my engine room! I'm going for a hot boiler like room. Just simple color and flat values for now. I spent a lot of time figuring colors that would complement the design.Critique at will! I think the center might be getting too busy with saturated colors but I'm not sure. Notes: the image will look dark against the light background.

My specialty. Mini wip. Tesla Coil cannon. Technical design and perspective are no problem for me. I want to do more of these but I need to focus on weaker areas thru studies instead.



Study on cut lines and how they catch light. Also learning how to add bulk from the Loomis Figure book.



More 3D block practice.



Rendering study. How forms can cancel each other out and adding different local values can bring back form. Still don't fully understand how to render occlusion shadows or how to distribute their values.



Anatomy study. Focus on the rib cage and general proportions.

More studies. Study of the pelvis in relation to the rib cage.



Understanding the values of occlusion shadows and recessed objects.



Constructive study of reflective objects, understanding of sight lines and how they affect reflections.

Another rough update of my engine room. Critique at will. Are the colors ok? I feel like there's too much at the center, too much detail or saturation?

More anatomy studies. I'm focusing on doing the forms in 3D and getting their proportions and placement correct.





More study on occlusion shadows. Still having some confusion. Do details of the same value always disappear on the shadow side/within the cast shadow of an object? Would this make occlusion shadows useless in that situation?

Intro to mirroring reflections. Feels nostalgic going back to some perspective studies.
