well I've got a "cafeteria" now... no table next to my chair though

and I think I should have somewhere to rest but I've found no bunk/bed/cot blueprints of any kind.

You can't build a ladder from a scanner room. They are placed on the black areas on the floor or from the hatch areas on the ceilings.

I can't seem to build ladders anywhere... and I did place the scanner room on top of one of those general room module thingies... But I can't GET TO IT. Or into it. Actually I could make a hatch but I already made two hatches elsewhere and didn't want one in the scanner room... good thing deconstructing is simple and without material loss....

And now that I have deconstructed and reconstructed the scanner room I understand why that particular room can't have a ladder in the center... (and your comment didn't make sense to me, because I wasn't IN the scanner room when trying to build a ladder...)

I really should stop playing and go to bed, but it's really fun to build your own base... I just have to find some interesting blueprints so I can make use of the two rooms that are currently entirely empty. And a bed. I definitely need a bed. For real, too. *yawns*
