Evil, loving these sketches especially the little fella at the bar!
I feel your pain with drawing hands and women, especially portraits of the latter. I find it easier if they aren't looking directly at the viewer though, where a certain symmetry is always hard to achieve. Maybe try angling her head toward the male 'king' character or perhaps even have her looking down on the barbarian. Hands are, to my mind just one of those things you just need to practice.....and practice and practice. Mine are still weak but it helped me a lot to just draw them constantly for a week or so and at some point it just clicked.
If you want some good refs of women I can highly recommend Mordsith Caras (right here) page on Deviant Art. She has some great model poses both nude and clothed without the normal pornographic poses that some other users post on there.

Edit: one you may find particularly useful for this latest image: Mordsith reclining nude If you mirror it for the reclining figure bottom right the way her head is turned back toward the centre of the image may help the composition a little too.

No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.

Great work! Some critique: The composition of the last pic feels balanced but also very tight and busy. However that could be because it's still a line drawing. If you render it you use contrast to put emphasis on the focal and leave the others with less contrast and therefore alleviate the "tightness" for the composition. Thanks for the advice on my sb!

Thanks crankshaft....if only I could give you some of my painting skills and you could give me some of your drawing skills we'd be set...lol....I'm a terrible draftsman I think it's because I went straight to painting without learning the basics now I'm having to try and break years of bad habits in my drawing. Thanks for the feedback.

Merry Christmas Evil :)

For the hands, I think the main issue is the near hand which has a way smaller palm than the far hand. If you painted over the "lines between the fingers" to the first joint/bend and made the pinky smaller, I'd say you'd fix the major issues. The backlighting of the far hand is done very nicely I think.

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Great work. Some critique: I would move the microphone a bit farther from his mouth because the two are forming a tangent.

Also I would double check the base of the microphone stand. It's tilted but the pole itself is vertical as if the base is planted completely on the floor. Also the cast shadow of the wire near the stand is off. It should be moved quite a bit to the right. Hope this helps.

Love that hair. It's such a tough thing to do in 3D so I always envy those ZBrush tools.
I'm also impressed at how it has the same style as your 2D work. It's very easy for 3D work to become cold and technical but this has the same kind of fluid, bold expression that I see in all your work.

Excellent work. It still has your personality in it which is really great. Small question: I heard Zbrush is more towards organics like creatures and characters. For now I use sketch up because it's easy and fast for technical stuff. Should I learn Zbrush later on as well?
