Yeah, I thought I recognised those earrings too. 
Keanu is quite tricky. After struggling to find a reference that looked like him I decided to try and draw him from memory as a fun exercise. It went quite well for a while... and then it didn't.
I seem to have my own idea of what he looks like and none of the refs seem to have "that" likeness.

Well, I had to google to see if that's true and ... it wasn't.
But it still sounds funny.

No, this one didn't work very well. 
When you see Willem Dafoe's crazy face you'd think it'd be simple to exaggerate all of that but while it's quite easy to do all his individual features it's very hard to arrange them into a coherent form. I don't know how he does it.
And I never like doing too much forehead.
