Quick design sketch in pen of a cylinder for my engine room.

Putting two equal dimension boxes apart from each other in distance and understanding how to transfer those dimensions.



Finding the dimensions of the box with just the front face. Also how proportions/vps stay the same regardless of lens used.



Applying decals or elements on ellipses in perspective.



Design sketch for the two spindles for my electrical engine room. A spindle is a device that holds a shaft or wheel, in this case that middle large generator.

Practice transferring heights to other similar rotated objects.



Using top view to get footprints for similar rotated objects that are not square with each other.

I can't figure out how to get the dimensions transferred other wise. Any advice would be appreciated!



Transferring footprints statically using multiplication and ellipses. This method can get very tedious and repetitive.



Transferring footprints/dimensions in one point by using diagonal vps.

I don't think this is correct. Does one dvp work for all sides of a cube/box?



More practice transferring height. Transferring height is easy but I can't figure out how to get the same dimensions for two randomly placed identical objects. Eg Two same tanks on a battlefield etc.

Some updates on my electrical engine room. Because of its complexity I'm doing everything in "parts." There are some perspective errors here (particularly the ellipses) but my focus is design, line weights and getting back to the tablet. Reference wise most of this came from my head but I did look at some electrical generators online.

Quick update. Study with ellipses and how they get fatter in degree as they go back and therefore the edges are sharper.
Also using the tangents of the ellipses to get the cap to complete a square in perspective.

I am very much liking your pen style of work. The boldness and contrast of the lines and their varying weight really show off your skills and hard work.

More steps to transferring footprints. It's very tedious and probably better to simply eye ball it. I omitted a lot of steps because it was very hard to get accurate.



How to transfer the footprint of an object to another position on the ground plane.



How to draw something slanted/angled in both the y and x axis.

A random power terminal I made purely from imagination that has nothing to do with my engine room . About 2-3 hours for this whole piece. I might do some rendering on it later but I should probably get back to the engine room. So many goals/assignments:P
