Decided to make a grown-up version too...

Love the personality you've captured in the eyes and expression.
And on a more technical note, the cooler hue on the the back of the distant wing is a really good choice in the way that it pushes and turns that surface away to separate it from the other wings.

thanks! I mostly intended for the "upper side" of the wing to look more colourful, but if that adds to the depth that's a happy accident I guess! :)

Neither the caterpillar nor the adult dragon butterfly were accepted :P Guess I might make them into fauna for my own shop...

Apparently the Lunar Meteor season is soon upon us - or rather Aywas - again, and this year they want monster submissions! :woohoo:

So I made a first monster (and technically I guess I could have used it for the chimera challenge too. It's like 80 % tardigrade but there's a bit of mole or rat, and maybe bear, too... I just need to identify the other species :aha:)

When I saw the pic I thought it was the new challenge thread that I'd clicked on. :P

Both of those look great. Love how the brighter spots glow in the shadows of the pale one and the colour choices of the first one work really well together.
I think the mouth stands out a little too much on the top one. I'd probably knock the value down a little bit there, maybe even by re-using that lovely pink hue from the body.

Thanks, and maybe you're right. If Aywas chooses to use them I suspect they'll use the 200*200 size versions and the white teeth may look less glaring then... But I'll sleep on it :p

EDIT: just checked how they look on Aywas where the background is white (well, it won't be in adventure - but if I remember correctly the Lunar Meteor background isn't very dark) and they don't stand out as much, so part of the reason they loook too white is probably the dark background. But that said, they can probably be darkened some anyway. :)

Yeah, you're probably safe with that. I'm so used to my own single layer scribbling that I forget that you're working with transparencies and changeable backgrounds on Aywas. ;)

Made another one but it feels a bit meh.
If I finish it for Aywas I'll need one more coloration and if so, I'll probably go with something saucer like (as in tea cup and saucer).

Looks fine to me, maybe you could enlarge the eyes if you want a bit more impact.

Ellipses always scare me anyway. :P
