I've also been working on a few sketches for the past week or more too. Hoping to finish them up by the weekend. ... Unfortunately, I have to take off tomorrow now, just to run the Wife into Washington DC for a Covid Test. - She's having surgery there Friday morning, which we have to be there by 5am. And know we have to drive all the way down there in all that crazy traffic an extra day, since they won't accept one from her Doctor, who lives 3 houses over, and their office not a 1/2 mile from the house!

Said the first few weeks might be a little rough, but full recovery even longer. Like 12 to 18 Months.

Well, I actually went downstairs after eating dinner, and worked on the image some more. Just going to call it finished. ... Plus, got something all over the bottom of the paper that pissed me off. Not sure what it is, or how it got on there? But I caused a small hole to form trying to get the larger one off. But there are a bunch of little dots along with the bigger one, almost like something splattered on it?

Well, after trying to post it here, it kept coming out blurry, and no where near as crisp. Even when placed side by side on the screen. Not sure if the site somehow resizes, or what-not, when it uploads images. But I sure can't get it to come across well. ... Might try taking a better image tomorrow upstairs in better light.

Well you did put your glasses on it and that shows how much smaller it is ;)

EDIT (I posted before reading all posts!)
Sorry to hear about your wife. Dad brokoe his hip joint in February and had surgery for that, and full recovery may take up to a year. But he's been almost entirely recovered now, after 2 months. And then he had another issue that really requires surgery too, but the doctors decided the risks were too high because of his age and other ailments, so he'll have to get by on meds. I do hope they are good enough. Anyway your wife is way younger than my dad so I'm sure she'll do fine :)

Thanks, and yeah, I didn't think about the glasses, duh.

But yeah, she's been having some mobility issues with her left arm for a while now & it's recently gotten worse. Especially in these past weeks/months? At times she can't lift anything, even stuff like a pitcher of Tea, etc. She also gets constant pain in it at times, lasting for days, and along with shock feelings and numbness down to her hand and fingers. - Though the surgeon thinks some of this may be coming from her neck injury she sustained back in 1996, (which they mentioned may also have to be revisited) they do see she has some major nerve issues in her arm that are causing some of the issues. ... So she will be having two incisions done, the first on the inner portion of her elbow, where they are cutting about a 2-3" cut and moving a nerve to the other side of a bone to relieve some tension/pinching on it. But the 2nd one will start in the lower portion of her palm, and extending down her forearm, we're told about 6 to 7 inches or so. And along with removing and moving some nerves there, he said it's the regrowing of the nerves itself that takes time and is what takes so long for full recovery. - He said they are both quite common procedures, and from everyone we have spoken with, (Doctors, her specialist, etc.) he has done more of these than anyone else in the area, and comes highly recommended for this. So were hoping things go well, but yep, even with all this she's freaking out about it just the same. ... I wish she didn't have to go through all this of course, but I really hope it helps her in the long run.

She'll probably be glad she did it, afterwards :)

I'm hoping so... We just got back from DC. I actually made good time, but was also getting it some too, so that helped. But made it there in just over an hour, for a 2 second swab of her nose, and then another hour+ back. But we stopped and I picked up a bunch of steaks and other meats. So will be spending the next couple hours cutting it up and vacuum sealing it all for the deep freezer. ... Afterwards I'm going to see if I can figure the image issues out and see if I can post the sketch I finished.

Testing this to see if it works better? ... Still doesn't look as it does in the book, but at least you'll get the idea, even though I'm not sure what the best way to take photos of sketchbook sketches is. Just would like to be able to post how it actually looks. ::unsure:

Just wish it looked like it does in the book. But it is the first one I've done in a sketchbook! :woohoo: So there's that at least. Though this was in the oldest book I have, I've since actually pulled out one of the new ones my Son picked up for me a while back, and starting to do some in there. ... It's been a while, but I guess I should look into some of that spray that helps protect the image once done. I'm already starting to see lead marks on the adjacent pages, but it doesn't help I carry all my stuff to work as well, in the chance I can sketch during lunch or something.

Well, the new desk arrived yesterday. (2 days early, so that's nice) of course, they delivered it to my neighbor. But this happens a lot, since we have the very same numbered address, and we are directly across the street from each other. The dumbass who assigned them back in the day, put their address down as the side street, instead of the street we both face, and they ended up with the same number. So we are always getting each others mail whenever a new person shows up for deliveries.

The first desk, that I'm giving the wife, was ok and worked. But I just didn't feel that comfortable with it and think she will get better use of it. I also don't think I would have used the additional pull-out, though the compartments on the right were nice and I plan on looking into something for the new one. (It was one of the things I thought would be nice for holding additional tools, etc.

The new one has a bigger surface area, and I'm really liking it more than the first one already. It is the old style, which I truly like, allows for full tilt and easily moved off to one side when not in use. It also fits better overall with the rest, even though I haven't put too much down in the basement yet, other then a couple small tables, my drawing cabinet, and a few other pieces. But I'm hoping to get the rest of this basement finished here shortly so I can paint and carpet the entire one side. (Other side still has quite a bit of stuff I need to go through.) Maybe I'll get some art time in this weekend.
