It's getting a really good 3d feel to it. :)

Moving along slowly and trying not to think too much about all the things that still need fixing. (Mostly background stuff like reflections and shadows - I think I need to add a glowy light to the "girls' hands" or repaint them, because they look rather odd just now.)

...and I'm much closer to done. Though the closer I get to done, the less happy I am with the background. For one thing it's a bit too close to the foreground characters in value but I can't decide whether I should make it lighter or darker. Some of the ares/edges are too fuzzy as well. Other things that didn't work out well yet are the girls reflections (the shadows should be amended as well, there are some areas that should be affected by the light (or rather absence of) from the "low lights"), the reflections in the alien "cannisters" and I've forgotten what the last thing was that I felt really unhappy with. But I also think there needs to be a bit of light from the "low lights" on the hands of the central character...

Enough talk - it's bedtime here!

I think that this is just lovely Chuck!

It is so crisp and detailed. Personally I would lighten the foreground characters and darken the background a bit. Keep the contrasts sharp in the foreground characters though. It's one of the outstanding features of this piece.

Really good stuff.

Everything's on the right!!!

Looks very nice. Not really sure there is anything I could suggest that might help? Until I read your post above, I was going to ask if the lights on the wall, as well as the hand glows, would be utilized? If so, that would give you the chance to make some dramatic lighting, rim-lighting, etc.and would also allow for the BG to be darkened as Dom suggested. ... Look forward to seeing how ya handle it though. :)

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D

I'm love'n it Charlotte. You might try a gradient darker on the bottom and lighter up top or maybe trying to put some kind of organic texture into the walls. You know how them alien ships are always made of some organic kind of stuff......

Wow. That is extraordinary. Really stellar work Charlotte.
The only thing I can critique is it could use a bit more contrast. Just a few Overlay layers with gradients would pull things together I think: like a vignette around the edges and a few white radial gradients to highlight areas.
Really creepy and lovely. A top-notch homage to Giger!

That looks really good. When I think of Giger, I think of gritty textures (in addition to a lot of other thoughts). Maybe incorporating a couple of cracked, rusted metal, and grunge texture overlays might help.

That's a good idea Gix. I think this image already has some of that in the skull at the bottom, so maybe it could be added to other areas as the work progresses.

Then again, some of Giger's work was very smooth. Like the Debby Harry pieces.
