That looks lovely. Really subtle and delicate with all that cross-hatched shading. Reminds me of a classical etching or silverpoint.
I was gonna say that I can't see any problems with the neck but then I realised you meant your neck!
My reading comprehension is very poor today. :)

Thanks, Valence! I always felt like I was horrible at etching, so I take that as a high compliment! :-P

Haha, yeah! My neck is very messed up. I'm not sure how I upset it, but it's really inflamed and painful. Not sure what else to do.

In other news, I'm working on some more sketch cards.

I also got a new scanner, so bear with me while I figure it out!

majQa' (I think? :S)
I may be a nerd but not quite enough of a nerd to be confident of my made-up-language skills.
However I instantly recognised the ship as the Delta Flyer so that's still pretty high on the nerd scale.
And that's a terrific Guinan!

The first one is a full-Klingon Torres, she's only featured once in all of Star Trek: Voyager, so that's a tough one anyway. xD

Yup, the Delta Flyer! And Guinan! ;-) I cannot get a decent scan of Guinan. I can assure it looks better in reality. I tried about ten times at all sorts of different DPI levels and settings. Nothing helped. xD

Yes, the face does look like B'Elanna, that's a pretty good likeness, but the longer hair also made me think of K'Ehleyr. Uh-oh, I'm going full nerd now. ;)

Good scan or not, the Guinan still looks lovely, it has a wonderful sense of light, which is tough to do with that media. (Coloured pencil or pastel? I wish I could use either. :()

And for non-nerds (or normal people!) majQa' means "Well done." It wasn't Charlotte's cat on my keyboard.

Nope, not mayQat...
And I thought that was Whoopie *looks at all the strange names* :dumb:

If only everyone had nice, normal names like ...erm... Whoopi?!
At least that doesn't have an apostrophe.
Why is sci-fi so obsessed with apostrophes? :dunno:

Valence: All coloured pencil for these! I'm sure I'd like to get into some other media, but I need to be able to afford them first. xD And thanks! I figure she's a pretty easily recognizable character because of the headpiece she wears as well!

And I don't know why an apostrophe makes things suddenly sound alien or exotic, but we surely do it a lot! All you have to do is change your name to Val'Ence and wa-la, you are a super exotic alien!

Charlotte: Haha, yup, it's Whoopi! :-) Not a huge Trekkie then I take it? :-P

I'd probably be more of a trekkie fan if the series had been on here in Sweden at times I'd been able to watch :P Previously all the Swedish channels assumed that sci fi nerds are all night owls with no jobs to get to in the morning so the programs usually started at about 1 am. It's somewhat better now, though...

And Val'Ence sounds really cool. I wonder what adventures he's out on right now? :D
