Video channels of interest

Does anyone watch Istebrak on YouTube, she’s very good, she explains things in a really understandable way.

I've watched a few of her videos, and have enjoyed what I've seen I like putting stuff on at work, including art vids like hers. I just set them to the side of one of the screens. But mostly I'm enthralled with my own work, and only listen to most, with the occasional peak. ;)

But one of the things I can't stand about YouTube vids, are those damn ads! (And yes, she does them sometimes as well) ... To have to click on a bunch of stupid-ass little boxes to get them off the screen really gets my goat! I've actually stopped watching some folks due to this. And ones that trigger repeatedly throughout, I just don't watch at all.

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D

Absolutely agree, YouTube is just full of people trying to make money & I hate those ones with ads at the beginning and the middle, however, I hate patreons more, much more. One of my favourite artists is Melanie Delon & everything is patreon. I don’t like it. Just sell a video and don’t disguise it.
Istebrak seems the same but there’s so many to watch you can avoid lots of ads

Added her to the subscription list. I just realised our channel's saved playlists were set to private  might explain why something I was trying to do didn't work

I'm listening to Istebrak now. She's quite harsh lol - lot's of "there's WAY to much of this here" or "NOTHING of that there... " but fun and interesting (even if I'm not watching as much as listening)

EDIT - not entirely sure I agree entirely with some of the stuff she says, but still...

Yeah, her comments can be a bit out there at times and I agree, harsh at times. But she will keep your attention! :)

I think that’s a bit of an issue for some people, she’s quite forceful in what she thinks is right, but in the main she’s very good I think. You have to watch Charlotte then you’ll see how she changes the paintings, usually to a much better painting

Well she doesn't sound mean, so I just think the choice of words sounds funny. I'm watching sporadically, enough to see the differences she makes in the images. She does improve them, but I think she maybe has her own little uhm issues... Like she complains about too much contrast in the faces but I think maybe she reduces it too much (she has hardly any highlights except for the eyes, and the darkest shades are medium grey...) and she wants all eyes to be brighter which I understand but at the same time, eyes are often not as bright as we do tend to paint them. So the opposite seems to be a more common beginner mistake to me...

Anyway I really never have the patience to watch an hour long video.
I sometimes try to watch those tips videos from Bobby Chiu, but I usually give up before he's done with the intro, he talks so much :P
