Adventures across the 3rd dimension

Someone made an "article" (as it's called) on BoredPanda, asking users to post images of 3D items they have made. Someone commented on the page "Shame. I was hoping for photos of three-dimensional objects made by Pandas. These (so far) are just 2D digital renderings imitating 3 dimensions." and I honestly don't get it. Were they hoping for photographs of a real life 3-dimensional item? (Not usually referred to as "3D") I mean - all images are 2D renderings of something whether that's originally 2D or 3D...aren't they? :? :dumb:

The fact they mentioned Pandas makes me think that they were just being silly in a "random" awkward way. :paranoid:

"I want to see a real Panda trying to use Blender's Node Editor and I want to see it now!" :stare:

:D Good luck with that!

My own issue was mainly that the person seemed to want to see 2D images of 3D stuff, not 2D images of 3D stuff.

Someone should have posted a picture of a tesseract just to annoy them further.

To be honest I'm not sure what a tesseract IS. I mean, I know it's in the Marvel Universe and blue and probably contains a lot of energy.... but.... other than that... :dumb:

I was a bit disappointed in the way that Marvel's version was just a cube. :pout:
It's a three dimensional shadow/projection of a four dimensional cube. :confident:
I love those gifs that people make of them rotating where the object seems to turn itself inside out, especially those ones that map fractals onto it too. :)

But I now think we've gone off-topic.
Let's get back to Pandas using Blender.

We're a tesseract! :woohoo:

Edit, no wait... we're a two dimensional representation of at least 4 dimensions. It's probably called something else...
