I was thinking between 850 and 1000w. Also, I was looking at far more RAM, and with the fact I'd be using it for 3D rendering as well it would be under load a lot more than just painting, so need moar powah! I was also considering the FX 9570 which apparently gets insanely hot.

I was mostly just working out parts for now in the hope I become incredibly rich and can buy the stuff to build it :P

Lmao! I had to quit drinking for a month and take out some Vaycaypay so I could build mine. It'll cost just under 1500$Cdn for it when its done. I agree on the PSU Thats about what I'm thinking I'll need especially if I start OC the system.
You will defintely need some liquid cooling for it. I'm gonna add one as well. Intel processers do have an edge for 3D rendering over AMD. At least thats the way it seems after some research. You may want to concider a i7 Quad Core. Just a thought.

The Intel would be quicker, but not enough for me to justify the price difference. I can build an entire AMD based machine complete with decent GFX card and drives for the cost of an i7 and the motherboard to plug it into

Currently I'm thinking about a new GFX card for the existing computer as my current one is beginning to show it's age. I'm actually very happy with the way it's held up so far. After many years with ATI(AMD) cards, I'm seriously considering trying out an Nvidia card now.

Ya I couldn't agree more on that one. Thats why I'm sticking with my AMD, and I do like AMD they are a good workhorse processer. AS for The Video Card My first two desktops had Geforce cards in them, But this new Radeon R9 300 seires sounds pretty good. Set up for Windows 10 and DirectX12 as well as. as far as I can tell (How many times can ya'all say as in a short sentence :P ) also being specifically designed for VR. Which is just around the corner now. Crazy that $#!T is happening now.

This one is made by Asus. But you do pay for Nvida like you pay for Intel processer not sure what I'll do yet. I've seen a Radeon R9 370 4gb card for Under 300$cdn. I can't decide cause I've always been a Nvida guy.
