Thanks Val.
I looked for your cow but I guess you haven’t posted it yet. I’m sure it will actually end up being wonderful and humorous as always.
Here’s today’s sketch and ref. Not sci fi or fantasy but at least it’s not just another direct copy of the Sktchy inspiration.

Thanks! This backwards way of working is really fun. Letting the ref. dictate where I go with a drawing is so much easier than searching for inspiration for an actual brief.
Having said that today’s ended up just....mweurgh!

Those straight full-body poses are tough to do (if they don't have more twist to the spine then I tend to avoid all of those along with the "missing forehead" selfies) so I think you've made a pretty good job of that reference.

Woohoo!
I've actually managed to paint ...erm... something?!

And not only did I paint "something", I even had to paint "something" twice!
About halfway through I tried to plug a USB stick in to my PC and accidentally hit the on/off switch. :rage:

I still don't think I've fully remembered how to paint yet as it was a bit of a struggle, but it's better than another zero day.

is it ever not a struggle? :P

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Wow! Look, a hand (and a very successfully painted one at that).
The struggle is the reason we keep coming back isn’t it?
Been feeling pretty rough due to man flu over the past few days so I’ve only got one quick sketch to post but I was quite happy with the way it turned out. Oh and I promise to at least get a sketch done fore this months challenge. Syd was after all the first sci fi designer I ever came across RIP Legend.

That reddish linework looks lovely against the neutral background.
And good hands too!

My sketchy thing from this afternoon....

The top right bit went a little wonky but the ref was cropped there and I wasn't quite sure where this particular cat's ears should be.
