Thank you.

That's a cool sketch too, doopyo. I like that sense of overexposed glare in the highlights and the silhouette works great as a thumbnail.

And (quick forum tip) if you want your pic to show up at full size in the post then remember to click the "Insert" button.

And today I learned that if you choose to change the clothing from the reference and decide to go for a striped shirt then it actually makes the anatomy look 100 times worse! :confident:

And no more hands for a while. :)

Did he just poke his own eye out? Who let that kid loose with a real knife anyway!?

 Yes, juvenile knife crime was even a problem on the high seas.

Last night I did this thing and tired myself out. :(
I was trying to be clever by tweaking the lighting to make everything bright and subtle but it just left the face looking a bit formless. I suppose I could have worked a little more to define the planes of the face better but when your patience goes you can't get it back.

I think you managed "bright and subtle" quite well on the face and eyes. (I like the colorful yet subdued eyes)
I think it's the blobby shading on the right side that makes it look a bit formless. And the hairline seems to be a bit all over the place... (also go easy on the forehead shading above the right eyebrow - our right, that is - she's beginning to look a bit like a dolphin...)

*reads above* oh that sounds harsh :pinch: But I really do like it! :)

Hey, you know that blobby bit on the right? There was actually a hand there in the reference. I did the right thing and removed it from existence in favour of unfinished blobbiness. ;)

And that didn't sound harsh at all, Charlotte. I was much harsher with it myself last night. The bit I had most trouble with was the chin/jaw just to the left (our left) of the mouth. The neck is still too wide there and because I changed the lighting I found the shading confusing and frustrating.
But it's "finished" and posted now. Any learned lessons will go on the next pic.

:eyeroll:

And if "you're pretty woman's face looks like a sea mammal" isn't harsh, I wonder what you tell yourself! :D

Well, we're all mammals of some kind. :)

And here's another kind...

Buster! :woohoo:
Edit: actually that'd be "the Tramp" (?) in English. And another breed....
